My journey into care began at the age of eight when my younger sister was born with severe and complex learning disabilities following a lack of oxygen at birth. From a young age, I became involved in supporting her and witnessed first-hand both the challenges faced by individuals with additional needs and the profound difference that high-quality care can make.
Fifteen years ago, I made the decision to leave employment to help care for my sister full-time. During this period, I became passionate about understanding her needs and enhancing her quality of life. I undertook a range of professional training and qualifications, eventually achieving a Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care Management. Through both personal and professional experience, I developed a deep appreciation of what outstanding care looks like and the positive impact it can have on individuals and their families.
This passion for quality care led me to establish Palmerston Care. My vision was to create a service built on compassion, professionalism, respect and genuine person-centred values. I carefully developed a team of like-minded carers who share my commitment to delivering high-quality support tailored to each individual's unique needs, goals and aspirations.
Today, every visit we make is guided by the same compassion that inspired Palmerston Care from the very beginning. We are dedicated to supporting people to live as independently as possible, while ensuring they feel safe, respected and valued in every aspect of their care.
